When you eat a salad with a fatty dressing, nano-particles form in your mouth as you chew the food. The fat helps you absorb the fat soluble phytonutrients. In the same way, combining the superfoods in a certain way forms those same "nano" vessicles that improves absorption of nutrients. So the nano-technology isn't the laboratory technology as in making nano carbon fibers. So is that is what you mean by "truely nanoparticles", the answer is no. Regarding side effects, the side effects should be exactly the same as eating the foods that they are made from... only without the weight gain effect... because you get a lot more calories from the whole foods.
